Just a couple of recent outfits. Quite enjoying the return of my coats.

When Kimono Dreams Come True.

WHEN KIMONO DREAMS COME TRUE.

Style-wise, I love something long, floaty, and a bit pointless. Which is why kimonos make me so happy. I've had this River Island one on my Polyvore for months, and stare at it sadly whenever I go in to store. I even tried it on once, to torment myself I imagine, as I couldn't justify buying it. 

HOWEVER when I got an email saying it had gone on sale, I couldn't move fast enough. I was at a family BBQ, mid conversation and I just legged it to a corner to buy it without disruption. Rude? Yes. Necessary? Even more yes. Can't say I regret it.

Please excuse my hair, my highlights are overdue and instead of getting them done I went on a pre-holiday clothing and tanning oil spree. I did find some perfect black sandals after years of hunting (Primark, below) so my hair will just have to wait. I'm still pretending that one day I'll be brave and cut it all off. Not going to lie, it also just needs a good wash. An outfit picture wasn't in my plan for today (it never is) and had I known I'd probably have at least put a bit more dry shampoo into it.

Please also excuse my thighs. Despite living off salads pre holiday they have refused to shrink.

Work Pyjamas.

WORK PYJAMAS.

This is a bit of a schizophrenic outfit (not ashamed to admit I had to Google how to spell that.)

On the top half I'm a professional business woman (albeit one that doesn't have access to an iron) and on the bottom half I'm an unemployed student, who's rolled straight out of bed to a lecture.

But I'm comfy and snuggly as hell, and that is pretty much my only aim for the day. What can I say, it's Monday. 

Mermaid Dreams.

MERMAID DREAMS.

Why are so many of my posts about mermaids? I can't really explain my dream of being a mermaid. I partly blame the Little Mermaid; as the only redheaded Disney princess she probably gave me hope that I'd find a prince, even while I grew more ginger by the day. Then I saw Daryl Hannah in Splash and that was that. 

I don't understand it, since I hate having a wet face and the feeling of wet hair on my neck makes me well twitchy and cross. As you can imagine, I'm a dream to go on holiday with.

Anyway, last time I reverted to being five and plaited my hair before I went to bed, a friend told me the next day that I had mermaid hair. I nearly kissed her. So now I do it regularly and I wake up feeling a bit closer to the mermaid dream. So today I finished the feeling off with a fishtail little skirt. I'm only one step away from throwing myself in the bath fully clothed to see if I grow a tail.

I've also found the perfect lilac jumper, but we'll go into my confused feelings for lilac another day.

After talking someone's ear off the other day about how much I love sequins and how excited I am that embellishment is big for Spring/Summer, I figured I should practise what I preach and actually wear some.

I need to be careful with sequins though..after I fell in love with them last time I got a bit carried away and my eBay took quite a battering.

I swear every time I wear this necklace I have the same colour nail varnish. I must be well weak minded and open to subliminal messaging. Or I just quite like turquoise.

A full outfit post is a bit of a stretch for me. So a "Daily Detail" post of a section of my outfit will have to do until I can bring myself to ask someone to take pictures of me. And until I can bear to stare at my face for ages while I try to edit it so that I look like a human instead of a slug, which is what I normally look like in pictures.

I'm not entirely sure why the ends of my hair always look pink (slash orange). It's one of the many reasons I've decided to cut it all off. I just need the balls and the money to do it now.
